Gillian and Zac met through a mutual friend while attending a viewing party for the Raptors playoff run in May 2019. Over that summer, they continued to hang out and spent many late nights at the Black Badger pub with friends. The couple had their first date in November of 2019 at Thirteen restaurant. In December, Zac finally worked up the courage to ask Gillian to be his girlfriend. Two years later while on a trip to Newfoundland, Zac asked Gillian to marry him at the top of Signal Hill and she said YES.
